We met these clients at a recent Homebuilding and renovating show. They had purchased a property which already had two sets of doors fully installed.
The slide and swing doors had only been installed for 2 years but the clients complained about the substandard operation and weather performance, they did however appreciate the flexibility that the doors were offering. Upon some research online they came across our New Wave Store website and in turn came along to one of our exhibition stands to view the doors in person.
They could not believe how different our system was offering the performance and style that they had been longing for.
Once we had attended site, we realised the doors that had been installed were a modified internal partition wall system that really does not deliver the minimum expectations that the door market demands.
They were a slide and swing system, so offered more than a conventional bi-fold or patio door but were simply not to the level of excellence our clients would have demanded.
The main issue that they were experiencing was that because the doors did not have an overlapping profile the doors simply did not have enough compression to prevent air ingress. Coupled with a window handle operating a mediocre security latch and a hideous exterior cut out slot the system really was lacking any kind of benefit.
One point was raised about the narrow sightlines between two sashes, and the clients were apprehensive about using our system that uses a wider profile, but because we can offer a wider maximum width on each sash they ended up with an increased glazing area of 29%
Due to the success of our New Wave door, we have noticed an increase in other companies seeking ways to imitate our great system, we view this as a form of flattery. We stand proud as the UK’s number one slide and swing manufacturer and cannot stress enough the importance of buying from the experts. We install both uPVC slide and swing doors and aluminium slide and swing doors.
