About New Wave Doors
All our doors are designed so that a level threshold can be achieved internally and (providing an adequate drainage method is in place) the external floor level can be just 10mm below the top of our bottom track, this is the perfect balance of modern styling and durability.
No. The New Wave Operating System supports all the weight of the sliding panels on the bottom track. There is no weight supported by the top track. This is one of the reasons behind the outstanding reliability of New Wave Door. It also gives the New Wave Door a greater tolerance to deal with lintel deflection and building settlement which is often a fact of life in a new building structure and can severely affect the operation of a multi panel door system and can even cause shattering of glass units.
No. Unlike a bi folding door, the Master Door and the Sliding panels only open when the concealed hinges are locked into place at a fixed point. Just like a conventional door.
The maximum height we offer for an aluminium New Wave Door is 2400mm high, anything higher than this is possible but is P.O.A and can affect the maximum width of each panel. For uPVC the maximum height is 2200mm.
The maximum width per panel (Inclusive of the outer frame) for our aluminium door is 1000mm. For example: The maximum width of a 4-panel system is 4000mm. There is no limit to how many panels you can have. For uPVC the max width is 850mm.
No, you don’t need a cill, but you need to confirm with your builder that there is an adequate alternative drainage method in place to ensure building control compliance.
What we offer/the process
A survey is only required for a refurbishment project when an existing door is being removed. When a New Wave Door is going into a new opening on home extension or new house then we only require the dimensions of the aperture and the position of the intended internal floor level. Our technical team work with your builder to get this information and we send out physical samples of the bottom track to assist you and your builder in achieving a flush internal threshold if that is your requirement. This also means that your doors can go into production sooner rather than waiting for a site survey which will require a completely prepared aperture and internal floor.
Our lead times vary depending on the specification of the door:
Aluminium
Standard Colour – 5-7 Weeks.
Special Colour – An additional 2 Weeks.
Magnetic Integral Blinds – 5-7 Weeks.
uPVC
Standard Colour – 4-6 Weeks.
Special Colour – An additional 2 Weeks.
Magnetic Integral Blinds – 5-7 Weeks.
Please note: the above-stated lead times are approximate and begin when we receive the manufacturing requirements form and manufacturing stage payment, so be sure to get this back to us as soon as possible!
Yes, we can, we call this a refurbishment, and it includes the removal and disposal of your existing doors, a survey of the aperture and some making good at the end of the installation. Contact our Sales Team about this option.
The general rule is the earlier the better and we recommend that you place your deposit between 10 and 12 weeks before you anticipate needing the doors to be installed. This allows our Technical Team to be in touch at an early stage to understand exactly what you need to achieve: are you looking for a flush internal threshold, what about the external threshold, is your project being rendered when you may need frame extenders? We are here to help and the quicker you get your final aperture sizes back to us then the quicker we can clear up any inconstancies so that your installation runs smoothly and on time.
Yes of course, however your New Wave Door is a specialist product and may well be his first installation and it is worth noting that your guarantee will then lie with your builder rather than us and as a result may not be for 10 years.
